dauan jacari formerly known as duality junkie is a pioneering fashion label based in new york city. founded in 2019 by the east village raised artist , dj chappel, the brand emerges as a dynamic fusion of artistry and garment construction.

drawing from a rich background in dance and apparel craftsmanship, chappel transcends conventional fashion norms by crafting wearable sculptures that seamlessly blend form and function. his designs, meticulously honed through a lens of movement, evoke a profound exploration of silhouettes' impact on our psyche.

inspired by his african american heritage, chappel manipulates textiles associated with cultural stereotypes, reimagining them into statements of identity. from reimagined men's boxer shorts to intricately crafted accessories made of bobo’s used in young girls' hair, chappel's boundary-pushing creations defy traditional fashion constraints, inviting viewers to engage in a dialogue that transcends mere aesthetics.

on the evening of september 19, 2025 dauan jacari premiered their second season; the royal court, during london fashion week. The presentation was their biggest show yet. with an original stage-play written by ak keita & bryce edwards, and live score by suutoo, 20+ models took the stage for a performance one can only describe as a night of theatre that broke the fourth wall.
